Just broke down and went on an MDVIP doctor’s waiting list. They do what doctors used to be able to do, for a price. More test results, this lack of communication with specialists is insane, borders on malpractice. CYA medicine.

I told my doctor I wouldn't get a mammogram because I couldn't afford treatments if it found anything. Two weeks later she joined MDVIP, meaning I would have to pay an annual fee of $2600 BEFORE I could see her again.

That is correct. Private insurance companies pay politicians a *very* pretty penny to prioritize private over public.

I think of MDVIP in america for example. So heinous that you need a membership subscription to even *see* their doctors 😭😭😭

Doing more research I learn she is part of some 'MDVIP' club where patients pay this agency an EXTRA $2000/year for extra fancy care i guess. They still bill your insurance and require the per visit co pays. They also have a "functional medicine" MD on staff that has a specialty in "Detox". NOPITY

That only applies to people who have access to coverage and care and a primary physician that is covered by their insurance. Even in the IPSOS poll that shows this (which I assume you're referencing) it shows overall Americans are unsatisfied with the healthcare system

Washington, DC, February 27, 2024 – A new survey conducted by Ipsos on behalf of MDVIP shows that most Americans are unsatisfied with the healthcare system, say the health insurance system is confusing and opaque, and many have skipped or delayed care because of a bad experience or the lack of timely appointments. A small, but not insignificant number, of Americans believe they have had a negative health outcome as result of their experiences within the healthcare system. The survey also shows that many Americans have primary care physicians, and among those, most are happy with their doctor and report being satisfied with experiences with their individual primary care doctor. How Americans feel about the US healthcare system For the poll, YouGov surveyed 1,200 U.S. adult citizens between June 21 and June 24. The poll found that just 40% of Americans have a very or somewhat favorable view of the U.S. healthcare system, while 53% have an unfavorable view of it. Favorable views of the U.S. healthcare system were more common among men than women and among adults ages 65 and older than adults under 30. However, the poll found that medical professionals had much higher favorability rates, including doctors (78%) and nurses (87%). Still, there were disparities among different age groups, as 91% of Americans over the age of 65 had a favorable view of doctors, and 94% had a favorable view of nurses, compared to 64% and 78% respectively of adults under the age of 30. Story Highlights Less than half now rate U.S. healthcare quality as excellent or good Americans’ 72% positive rating of own healthcare quality also a new low Evaluations of U.S. healthcare coverage, cost are more subdued but steady WASHINGTON, D.C. -- For the first time in Gallup’s two-decade trend, less than half of Americans are complimentary about the quality of U.S. healthcare, with 48% rating it “excellent” or “good.” The slight majority now rate healthcare quality as subpar, including 31% saying it is “only fair” and 21% -- a new high -- calling it “poor.”
