Scammy Susan’s voting records don’t lie. #MEPolitcs
Another data point:

Susan Collins cast more than a dozen tie-breaking votes FOR Trump bills/nominees in 2017-18 alone.

By contrast, pretty sure she's never cast a tie-breaking vote AGAINST Republican nominees and I'm not aware of a single tie-breaking vote against any GOP bills either. #MEpolitics
It's never happened. At least not since I've been watching (late 2006.)

Consider: Every Republican judicial nominee Susan Collins has ever voted against has been confirmed. They're all judges/justices now. #MEpolitics

🚨 House narrowly passes six-month funding bill as shutdown deadline nears

Party-line vote of 217-213 except

Massie (R) votes NO
Golden (D) votes YES

Now it goes to the Senate, where it needs 60 votes. Democrats haven’t said whether they’ll block it.

House narrowly passes six-month funding bill as shutdown deadline nears
The measure’s fate is uncertain in the Senate, where several Democrats will be needed to cross the 60-vote threshold for it to pass.

A plan to build a public medical school at UMaine was just denied because it would cost $200 million, and we don't have the money.

To pay for a war that is killing thousands, and that no one besides Israel wants, Trump wants to cut billions in safety nets and agencies here at home.
Weakness from establishment Dems has got us here. We need new, stronger politics to resist Trump’s cruelty. #mepolitcs

3 things can be true: Platner's alleged acts are egregious/worrisome; the DC establishment would like to bury him based on his views/aims as much as his personal history; a faction within the party sees him as a threat and his success would signal/cement an ebbing of that faction's power. #MEpolitcs
Compare the headline to the quote.

Beyond that: The article cites four people who are "furious": An anonymous Senate aide; a DNC member we've never heard of; president of Democratic Majority for Israel; and the founder of a DC-based group we've never heard of.

None seem to be in Maine. #MEpolitics

But it lined an entire mile of Main St!

I have to think there's an affordability story here. The overall population of the city hasn't changed much, so the new arrivals are mostly crowding out Maine-born residents.

Historical note: I think this is the lowest Maine-born share on record #mepolitcs

Portland’s Maine-born population has dropped to 40%. Is that a problem? | Column
If the trend of the past five years continues at the same rate, there will be no Mainers living in the city by 2050. Alarm bells? Not yet.

There are so many issues to press Susan Collins on -- Trump nominees, her shilling for MAGA etc etc.

The only reason for a local TV news interviewer to focus on Ukraine is because it's a "safe" topic that Collins is happy to discuss.

In other words it's PR masquerading as journalism. #MEpolitcs
