Metsatöll - Kûû 2011
Witness the traditional underwater bog-maiden hunt.
Torupill (Estonian bagpipe) kannel (zither) & mouth harp are part of the Estonian folk metal band's unique sound. They are amazing live. I still have no idea how they filmed parts of this video.

When we saw Metsatöll at Paganfest they said "at the show last night we partied too hard and lost our stage clothes. We're going to party so hard, tomorrow we might have to do our show naked!" Anyway here's a recent music video. These must be different stage clothes.

Speaking of Metsatöll... 🤘
Whenever they've played here in Seattle, they've absolutely stolen the show. Desperately wish they'd had a chance to headline here when "folk" metal was big, but now that seems unlikely 😭

Lauri Õunapuu from the metal band Metsatöll saw me drawing at a live show, sat down next to me, and looked thru my ENTIRE sketchbook, chatting, smiling, commenting on almost every page.
This was over a decade ago, but I'll remember how supportive and complimentary he was for the rest of my life 🥰

Artists 👋 what's a compliment you've received that has really stuck with you or meant a lot to you? I'm curious, and also, I think it's nice to occasionally remind yourself that people appreciate what you do and that it matters 🥰
A thought that often occurs to me: “I really need to expand my vocabulary so I have more ways to compliment my friends’ beautiful artwork.”
