The MPC and MFRC are different. MPC is just taking the old BN specialty platoons and putting them into a single formation focused on recon/security/strike for the BN. The MFRC is a new formation doing the same thing for BDE but with a different task org.

There’s a food pantry inside the MFRC at Shearwater. We (The Veteran Farm Project) donate all the time.

It was a real pleasure meet some of the incredible team at the Military Family Resource Centre and the families they support. Military families give so much to our communities, often making sacrifices that go unseen. It was inspiring to learn more about the important work being done at the MFRC.

The system doesn't flex. If the chain of command supports, CFMWS or MFRC does not as they operate under different rules. Something has to change.

Offhand I don’t think there’s been meaningful work done in this space since the 2017 ACVA report on veteran mental health and families, and I have no distinct recollection of any serious policy coming in the wake of that study. Families are forgotten, save for “talk to the MFRC and otherwise STFU”.

I ended up just going my own way and leaving the MFRC behind because of the same issue. But I have very little pension and will be in a financially precarious situation once my spouse dies if he dies suddenly. (before 85)

The Canadian navy & MFRC partnered with her for Navy 100th, & imagination library sent all babies born in 2011 to navy families books each month till 6yrs old. Now expanded to all Dnd families. Such a huge loss to world.

I'm sorry about your spouse! That's the gap the MFRC were originally organised to fill but they have budget/ staffing issues so no longer meet their mandates. With scarcity of PMQs most CAF members live on the economy and unless you're in a town that lives and breathes CAF we're ignored locally.

So listen brother, I plan on starting a coffee maybe on Fridays at C.C., I’ll let you know when I start them, just looking for a spot for us to get together and have some good laughs. We used to do it in W.P. MFRC but I think C.C. Would be perfect and folks would feel… at home.
