Also, something else you might not know.

MILSTD is testing the gear for function.

MILSPEC is "does this look right? Is it the right size?"

It has NOTHING to do with how durable it is.

Only how durable it looks.

I started reading it around the time I started doing milstd-882e stuff

I would make 882f adopt a 1-page edit about TRL levels of hazards and their mitigations

Hi there.

As someone who had the uh.. privilege of seeing how this process works for "milstd" gear, I feel like there's a key piece people are missing.

Yes, phones are drop tested, corrosion tested, and water tested.

But not the SAME device.

Each test gets a unique device.

the book is much more vibes based and shows minimal interest in engineering analysis

he even cites an old version of MILSTD-882 which is some rookie shit

The HARM & other Western munitions have to be controlled via a MILSTD 1760 databus. Rewiring the Su-27 was not practical, but stores pylons with a wireless link to the 1760 databus in a pylon were available.

Probably the closest symbol in MILSTD 2525/APP-6 😀. There is a horse there somewhere, but the pack animal symbol is better, even if it has two humps
