I learnt a lot from @kathrynnave.eurosky.social's book about what the free energy principle is and what it can and can't do. It opens in a basement under the M4, with the National Grid's control centre: anticipatory, self-correcting, but definitely not alive! doi.org/10.7551/mitpress/15519.001.0001

A roundabout takes one option away — you can only drive one way — and hands you another: the U-turn, which traffic lights forbid. Alicia Juarrero's lovely example of constraints creating possibilities. Can't say I get all of this, but interesting reading. doi.org/10.7551/mitpress/14630.001.0001

I am like 30 days deep into fact-checking my 250 page book and I haven’t used a LLM once.

I’m really glad when I signed my book contract with MITpress back in early 2024, it prohibited the use of LLMs.

I’m a rule follower, so I even stopped using Google when it started being genAI at the top.
Hi, this is Holden emerging from my Bluesky hiatus to tell everyone that when checking the links in the piece, I used ChatGPT as my search engine (does anyone use Google anymore?). The piece was written by me and edited by humans. So all the links were checked by me and again by our copyeditors.
