Fuck it imma say it, I don't think I actually like Mario Kart World.
There's some interesting mechanics but the chaos gets too much in the way for me to fully embrace those and the handling is too heavy to enjoy casually, its just a fucking mess to play.

Fuck it imma say it, I don't think I actually like Mario Kart World.
There's some interesting mechanics but the chaos gets too much in the way for me to fully embrace those and the handling is too heavy to enjoy casually, its just a fucking mess to play.

They even did a balance adjustment and added new features to MK8 last month. The devs within Nintendo know World didn't replace 8. The same may happen with Ultimate.

I realize they did the same with Mario Kart 8. But the big difference was the popularity of the Wii-U vs. the Switch. MK8 was held back on the Wii-U.
But, from what I've seen, the Switch 2 just isn't the commercial heavy-hitter that the Switch 1 was. More of the same thing with some better specs...

Since Mario Kart Tour shut down its servers yesterday, this two games have again the largest roster of any Mario game (if we consider that both games have color variants of some characters and that MK8 DX has the Booster Course Pass DLC).

I don't necessarily think that's related, though. Obviously the base game still has to be good.
Mario Kart World isn't worse than MK8 because of the roster, it's because of other factors. If MK8 had 200 characters it would still be a better game, if World had 200 it would still be worse.
