In 2025 MLBPA is telling players to carry around documentation as they play professional baseball to “avoid confusion”?! I fucking hate it here
*I* would be worried
July 14, 2025 at 12:15 AM
Fuck. MLB, the Padres, and the MLBPA better put this on blast. No excuses.

minor leaguers are unionized under the MLBPA....
It continues to be a crime against the labor movement that MLBPA has never organized the minors. But of course it's not a union, it's a guild of millionaires who need an apprentice class structure.

sure, that will win the MLBPA over.
MLB wants to make the LA Olympics in 2028 mandatory for chosen players. Skip out without an approved excuse, and you're on the restricted list without pay and service time for as many as 25 days through Aug. 3 that year — well after the second half begins July 21.

The MLBPA needs to clean house. This is insane.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan and @dvnjr.bsky.social:

MLBPA executive director Tony Clark resigned after an internal investigation revealed he had an inappropriate relationship with his sister-in-law, who had been hired by the union in 2023

Scab pitchers? No thanks. If you don't want position players pitching, make the Managers or pitching coaches do it

Once again calling for the MLBPA to designate this day as Curt Flood Day. And a shout-out to all unions, including my local CUPE. Workers unite.

MLBPA going to its bullpen
Longtime major leaguer Chris Capuano will take over as chief operating officer at the MLBPA after the firing of Xavier James, a source tells Jeff Passan. Ian Penny, a senior adviser to executive director Bruce Meyer, will handle HR duties following the firing of Michael O’Neill.

That information is widely available. They are putting $44 million into an escrow account every year. The MLBPA doesn’t just let them hoard all that money.

This will require an investment from the MLBPA but I stand ready to rebut
agreed. we need @cjzero.bsky.social to start posting labor talking points in response
I understand it, but there’s still something weird about the MLB official account that is used to promote web gems and big homers and stuff also being used to launder the league’s position in collective bargaining.

LOCKOUT COMING BABYYYYYYY

(MLBPA will 100% not go for this lol)
January 20, 2026 at 10:53 PM
Yeah you got a better chance of them not playing in 2027 altogether than the MLBPA agreeing to a salary cap.
If I had to bet, the owners and these kinds of fans are about to find out how deathly serious players are about not agreeing to a hard cap.

The players bent on the luxury tax, and probably will not yield another inch.

Precious little in sports stuns me anymore. Them agreeing to a cap would do it.
