In the face of a handful of fundamentalist clerics and a handful of neo-fascist monarchists, it is the PMOI who must restore Iran’s and the Iranian people’s dignity in the eyes of the world. Otherwise, nothing will remain of the Iranian people’s honor amid the quagmire of the Pahlavi & mullahs.

I teach a European history survey for American students. I draw a clear line between 21st century American conservatism and 19th century monarchists when talking about ideologies. If the GOP is now citing de Maistre instead of Burke, maybe I don't need to worry about that distinction anymore?
