In 1992 kon ik MsWorks, een compleet office pakket draaien vanop 4 floppy's van 1,2 Mb (en de 1 ste was dan nog bootable).

I originally got Libre office because it was the only software that would read my MSWorks files from the early 90s. I still use it, regularly. I think I did resave those files in a modern version just in case. I should check

Father-in-law uses Linux mint and most I can do is update and twice a year when I visit.

Don't know how we're going up Skype with him since that's not dead.

I have had good success with LibreOffice/OpenOffice. I was able to recover files that were in MSWorks and Displaywrite

Woran ich mich aber noch gut erinnere & bis heute noch ein Souvenir habe, ist das Bedrucken des Schleifpapiers mit 40er Körnung AKA Schulklopapier mit dem Nadeldrucker. Alle 10 Blatt nachjustieren, weil MSWorks Klopapier nicht als Blattgröße kennt. (Star-, Open-, oder LibreOffice hatte das später)

Decades ago there was a phrase, Peace Now. When I hear a station's new moniker, MS NOW (in bold) I only think of how I'd love to not have MS, now or ever, yet sadly, I do. Like VD NOW, or OCD NOW, COPD NOW. But hey--that's me. Could be the MS speaking, NOW.
