Just found my daily news email from the Guardian in my spam folder, and for once I think MacMail might have got it right.

So, using #rstats I've just extracted 4742 URLs or partial URLs & 77 Subjects from my #macOS email rules for auto-deletion of #AcademicSpam email (predatory journals & conferences). Added to my #Macmail rules over ~9years.

Ich hatte mal Postbote und war sehr zufrieden. Wurde leider gekauft 😥 jetzt bin ich auch auf der such nach einem neuen Mail Client (thundebird und macmail geht gar nicht imo )

I don't know about macmail, but for anything I access in the browser, I've got the plugin uBlock Origin that lets you block specific elements, because the AI pop ups on Google stuff takes up screen space and is annoying as hell.

The joy of tech support. Spent one hour with a customer with email setting for Macmail and iPhone. It was a battle but i was able to get the customer connected

I use the Mac Mail program rather than Outlook, which is as severe a condemnation of Outlook as I can deliver. MacMail itself is ungreat, but there aren't a lot of clients that can handle the 2FA of my various email accounts. (Or there weren't the last time I went looking for alternatives.)

I was reading your excellent book and came across your wonderful spam rant. On my Mac, I have an app in Macmail called SpamSieve. It allows you to teach the mail program whether a message is Spam or Good. After a while, it does a great job of filtering Spam messages.

I recommend organizing with filters and folders. 220K unread emails tells me you have much junk or newsletters. If that is what you want then you can have all that.
Gmail is a free service. Users are encouraged to self manage.

It comes to something where I’d even take Entourage over MacMail, and I hated Entourage. And I’d still take Outlook over Mail. Thankfully there’s Spark so I don’t have to take either
