I’ve been thinking about the fact that most mainstream PC manufacturers don’t let users decline Windows except on developer builds.

I think a big reason for this is if they did allow users to decline Windows preinstallation it would hurt Macrosoft because it would reveal Windows is EXPENSIVE trash.

When you try to use the Windows EULA as a background element, but forget to change one of the instances of "Microsoft" to "Macrosoft", and accidentally confirm that your show's AI apocalypse is powered by Windows.

I called it Macrosoft because it is a big operating system in terms of resource consumption, especially compared to Linux but also with MacOS.

Look at the irony: on Fedora, it takes 1.5 GB of memory. On Windows 11, this same tab would likely take 2.5 GB, which ironically might freeze up a 8 GB Macrosoft Winbloat machine, the subject of this article.

This is the truth about Linux Macrosoft is hiding from you: most modern distros have almost everything Windows can give you -- and more.
The answer is a Linux system
They are very easy to use these days and have everything Windows can give you
Many editions like Ubuntu have long term support and are regularly updated and are free
All you need is a disc and reboot your computer
I have Lubuntu and am considering changing back to Ubuntu
