Great news! The Yurok Tribe and Western Rivers Conservancy jointly achieved the largest #landback deal in California’s history this May. After twenty three years of land back efforts, over 47,000 acres of ancestral lands will be returned to the Yurok tribe.

In the 1970s, the Tsimshian village of Metlakatla, in Southeast Alaska, preserved its reservation when others in Alaska were terminated.

Today, the Tribe is fighting in court to expand its fishing rights outside of the federal designation.
