This is one of those gargantuan manga series I've always wanted to read. Remember seeing it as it was publishing 2003-2012 and all its hype.
In 2018 I gave it a try. I dropped it right before its fabled Mahora School Festival arc.

I'm in the little town of Takahata, Yamagata (pop. 23,000) for the Game Music Concert by Brass Exceed Tokyo @bexceed at Takahata Culture Hall Mahora. It was a little bit far from Tochigi but I'm on vacation and tickets were cheap. Will feature music from FF6, FF7, Chrono Cross++

There are a bunch of dangling threads that may or may not be resolved in UQ Holder. Probably not.
But regardless. I adored Negima. My favorite arc is unsurprisingly the fan-favorite Mahora School Festival. It's when the manga lets loose, and does one of the best school festivals I've come across.
