Surguja, India — In an innovative step toward sustainable infrastructure, officials in Chhattisgarh are turning plastic waste into durable rural roads, combining environmental protection with economic opportunity. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), authorities in Surguja district have successfully constructed a one-kilometer pilot road in the Mainpat area using recycled plastic waste. The project marks a significant shift in how waste management and road construction can work together.

Mainpat, Chhattisgarh |A public hearing on the proposed expansion of bauxite mining in the Kandaraja and Urga region of Mainpat turned chaotic on Sunday when a large group of villagers stormed the venue and dismantled the stage and tent, forcing authorities to abruptly halt the proceedings. Chhattisgarh Tourism Mainpat (मैनपाट का इतिहास): मैनपाट एक आकर्षक पर्यटन स्थल है। यह स्थान हरा-भरा है और यहां का रोमांटिक सुबह और शाम बहुत मनमोहक है। मैनपाट को सर्वोत्तम हनीमून स्थल माना जाता है। मैनपाट एक पठार पर स्थित है जिसके चारों ओर जंगल हैं। यह अभी तक अन्वेषित स्थान सुंदर पहाड़ी ढलानों, जंगलों, झरनों से युक्त है और ऐसा हिल स्टेशन है जिसका अभी तक दोहन नहीं हुआ है। यहां एक तिब्बती बस्ती है जो उनके साथ बातचीत के लिए एक उत्कृष्ट अवसर प्रदान करती है। वास्तव में, बस्तियों के कारण मैनपाट को 'मिनी तिब्बत' के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। प्रकृति द्वारा निर्मित सौंदर्य के कारण इसे सरगुजा का शिमला भी कहा जाता है।

अंबिकापुर. मैनपाट के कंडराजा व सपनादर में नए बाक्साइट खदान का विस्तार होना है। दोनों स्थानों पर बाक्साइट उत्खनन के लिए लीज निजी कंपनी मां कुदरगढ़ी स्टील प्राइवेट लिमिटेड को मिला है। इसका विरोध स्थानीय लोगों द्वारा किया जा रहा है। सपनादर में खोले जा रहे बाक्साइट खदान (Mainpat bauxite mines) के लिए मंगलवार को आयोजित जनसुनवाई में जमकर हंगामा हुआ। जनसुनवाई में पहुंचे अजजा आयोग के पूर्व अध्यक्ष भानू प्रताप सिंह ने आरोप लगाया कि बिना ग्रामसभा की सहमति के ही जनसुनवाई की जा रही है। प्रभावित लोगों को इसकी जानकारी तक नहीं है। वहीं इससे पूर्व 30 नवंबर को कंडराजा बाक्साइट खदान के लिए जनसुनवाई की गई। यहां भी विरोध का सामाना करना पड़ा था।
