If you're cis, one thing I'd like to impart with regards to trans people is that you are being lied to on an almost unfathomable scale, from billionaires like Musk, to religious fundamentalist groups, to print and broadcast media, to entire governments, they're committed to spreading malinformation.
Literally this.

If you are a cis person, even if you are an expert in some field that affects trans people, and you *think* you know some facts about trans people, I can almost guarantee you believe some things that are insanely wrong.
It blows my mind every day. I think a lot of it also has to do with preconceived notions almost everyone has from all the myths they've heard their entire life about trans people. They think they already know everything, so why listen

That X thread is also ironically a really clear example of malinformation, as described in the very presentation they're referring to.

Amazing that the solution society landed on for the malinformation crisis is apparently to industrialize its production

People lump everything under “fake news,” but misinformation, disinformation and malinformation are different. They can come from different actors and operate differently, mixing them into one category hides how these systems form, adapt and reinforce themselves.

Bad actors use mis-, dis-, and malinformation to manipulate and harm. Bill Braniff of PERIL explains how it fuels violence—and why digital literacy for kids is a vital defense.

Like, this is plainly lying so that people who read it are less informed on the subject than they would it they were just ignorant, it's straightforwardly untrue. This is misinformation with malicious intent; malinformation.

But this is just one article in an ocean of hundreds each year. On and on.
Shocking twist, there is actually some debate about whether the testosterone dose was too high. Overall the kid seems to be doing better with it than without it.

There is literally no story here other than "Father Objects To Son's Happiness."

Rather ironic that my talk that includes a section on defining malinformation, where true information is warped to cause harm, is currently being warped to cause harm by MAGA idiots.

That's what Self ID is, that's all. Not so controversial now, is it? You're being lied to and bullshitted about trans people every step of the way, I don't think dishonest quite describes it, it's malicious disinformation. Malinformation, if you will.
