That seems like the best use of money for fun I can think of, except maybe a glass bottomed boat to see manatees and rays. A friend’s parents run model trains at heritage museum: working mini locomotives (they’re a forestry family as are most people there)🤗Towing people around on weekends, SO fun!

Dr. Gerard Pinto of Jacksonville University told the Waterways Commission the basin is drier than normal, salinities are elevated in some reaches, algae blooms are present (Microcystis detected but not producing toxins in the latest DEP sample), and recent surveys counted about 7–8 manatees locally with 16 total mortalities this year.

we lived with another friend of hers from ota school who went on to become an ot at her and her woodshop teacher husband’s condo. sometimes we’d go out in their boat. you had to go slow because of manatees that would swim into the neighborhood harbor not too far from the hot tub. it was glorious.
