Two companion ordinances before the board would create residential and commercial energy storage rules (MMC 7-601 and 7-701 series) covering permitting thresholds, safety standards, UL testing and fire department review; residential permits are proposed for systems over 1 kWh with a $150 fee, commercial permits for systems over 10 kWh.
