Oh Schumer has terrible candidate instincts most of the time. His choices are why Cheri Beasley and Mandela Barnes aren't Senators.

We have kind of seen what happens with Schumer's endorsed candidates, though. Graham Platner and Haley Stevens.

Yeah that's a very common Mandela effect thing.

I'm guessing it's because larger fictitious plants that eat people commonly appear in fiction set in the Amazon?

Using "Mandela effect" to explain forgetting your kid's birth year for a second.

"People believe they literally got transported to a parallel universe before they'd believe they misremembered something" is a pretty good line and some people *do* think that, but I also feel like most people who use "Mandela effect" just mean it as as shorthand for "widely misremembered thing"

Two South Africans, Nelson Mandela& Elon Musk, have played a large role in shaping AIDS in SA… the former by supporting LGBT rights in the constitution & centerting AIDS in his presidency, the latter by stripping AIDS care via DOGE & assailing trans rights globally theintercept.com/2026/10/31/t...

my personal "mandela effect" moment is that I am 100% sure The Home Depot used to be just Home Depot

Maybe I'm wrong but I really feel like the majority of people who call something a "Mandela effect" aren't literally referring to parallel timelines but using slang to mean "weird I thought Pikachu's tail was black". I see so many comments jumping down people's throats for something they didn't say!

I remember ages ago on the badsite I called Gyarados not being spelled Gyrados a Mandela effect because hey, wtf is up with that, I always remembered it as Gyrados, and got so many 'DUMBASS, YOU'RE NOT IN A PARALLEL TIMELINE, YOU JUST SPELLED SOMETHING WRONG' responses. Hello???? I'm aware????

I always thought Mandela Effect was just this general phenomena and the parallel universe thing was specific to bearenstein/bearenstain bears? Is this my own Mandela effect about the Mandela effect?

Fox Kids Sinbad Saturday Big Bad Beetleborgs Segment (1996).

I wonder if this is where that dumb Kazaam/Shazaam “Mandela Effect” thing came from.

I think I'm having a Mandela effect moment where I think I created a lot of Rise porn when I've only made two.

I'm just gonna call it the Rise effect from now on.
