Watts nailed it with Skeleton Crew, one of my favorite shows of the Mandoverse. Kinberg wrote 7 episodes of Rebels including “Twilight of the Apprentice”, arguably one of the best SW animated eps of all time. He and Filoni know each other well. We’re in great hands.

But Mandoverse is in large part a creation of his special cowboy apprentice and that definitely colours his opinion.

What do you think is next for live action Star Wars after Ahsoka S2 and Starfighter? I'm surprised we haven't heard more officially and I'm missing the days when we had multiple Mandoverse seasons per year 🥲 The animation & gaming side of things seems to be going strong though!

My hot SW take is that Disney should have done a soft reboot, set things 5 or so years post-RotJ (the best idea of the Mandoverse) and recast the main actors. It would opened up so much more storytelling, even adapting the better parts of the EU.

If in a worst case scenario it WAS based on the Mandoverse even shit like Ahsoka, Rotta, and Grand Admiral Thrawn can be explained to an audience fully in a line or two without them needing the full context of their history to get the gist of them because Star Wars is very adherent to archetypes

I didn’t notice that Janu has a taxidermied vexis in his mansion (the giant serpent in TROS). What was that about the Mandoverse being separate from the sequel trilogy again?
Rewatching Mandalorian and Grogu. I like how Din teaming up with Rotta I the gladiator pit still gets to the core of Star Wars of unlikely people teaming up for a greater cause. It’s that kind of stuff that Lucas implemented into his works based on his anthropology studies.
