yeah, when I get deep into obscure publishers and their retail fronts, I know I'm in for some real discoveries.
It's like, 98% of what I need to look for, mangaupdates has the majority of what I need. That 2% is what I live for though.

Having done this for, uh, almost 30 years now, one of the things that strangely brings great pleasure is trying to figure out a manga series.
You get a cover, and maybe a name, and it's a title that's not in mangadex, mangaupdates, or anime-planet. It's the best kind of research...

i mostly use anilist and sometimes mangaupdates. anilist always has both the original hangul and a romanization! mangaupdates has the original hangul, maybe not a romanized version

I tried adding two doujinshis to MangaUpdates but they were rejected because, apparently, unlicensed djs (and anything other than manga/hua/hwa) have to be scanlated to be added 🙃
