I surveyed this for Geoscience Communication: of 299 maps in 27 geoscience journals, only 1.7% name their projection, 44% give no way to tell, and just 16% draw a graticule. doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2026-4209

A simple grayscale map of the world using the Equal Earth Projection. Instead of a rectangular projection like Mercator, the graticule lines curve gently toward the top and bottom of the map, giving all contents their true areas relative to each other.

It would be really helpful if there was a way to update the map projection in ArcGIS for PowerBI. I have polar data with points in North Pole and they fall off of the Mercator Projection default in PoweBI. Is there a work around for changing the projection, or are there future plans to have differen...
