Just for fun, I dissected a seed of Thalia dealbata (#Marantaceae). What a surprise! 😲The embryo is strongly curved, a germination operculum is present, & there’s that little hollow area (in the right half, left of embryo), the perisperm channel, unique to the family. #seed #Botany #PlantScience 🌾🧪
