Oh, Marchebranche (the French game I illustrated) has been nominated for a Golden Grail in France (Le Graal d'Or). I know nothing about that prize but I guess it is a nice thing.
Marchebranche is still very small and obscure so I doubt that we will win but I welcome anything positive today.

This just dropped, Marchebranche, the French game that Thomas Munier wrote and that I illustrated won « best indy game 2024 » of the French RPG awards. It is a nice surprise, thanks to Dystopia for the great work they did on the book (especially Laure who did the layout) It was good teamwork. :3

So yeah Marchebranche is out there, in the wild. A beautiful book with the best cover art I ever drew, published by a real RPG publisher, available in book stores. What was the effect on my life? One nice podcast interview that was quickly forgotten. I guess this is all, I just need to move on now.

Last time I was that stressed by a commission was when I drew the cover of Marchebranche. Which I ended up being very proud of but gosh it is difficult for me to handle that level of anxiety.

I think that Skyrealms is maybe the best way my art has been presented in a publication. Maybe even better than Marchebranche in a way. Both touches on my more personal inner world vibes. 💜

I called my mom, I was hoping that receiving Marchebranche, seeing my art and my chosen name in a real book would help her see me for who I am but no, it did not change anything. She still deadnamed me and misgendered me without hesitation. I had even included a bookmark with my photo and my bio. 🫤

If you don't follow THelen already you are missing out really great art. She don't pull punches but she also have a very sensitive style. Sometimes it is super tragic but some other times it is cheerful and silly. I would love one day to see her fully illustrate a tabletop RPG like Marchebranche.

HEY! I finally FINISHED the cover art of Goblin Mail! Which like for Marchebranche included in fact 4 (very stressful) pages! But I am a QUEEN and I did it. I drew in total 50 characters just for the cover. Not mentioning all the goblins in the inside pages. 😤

Finishing Marchebranche was so stressful that I swore to myself to never accept a full book commission again and now I have to do four more full books commissions to do after finishing the Princess with a Cursed Sword, which was also a full book. No surprise I am burnout and unable to feel things.

Finally snagged Marchebranche by Thomas Munier and @evlynmoreau.bsky.social looks fantastic, the uncoated paper has a great feel and after a quick scan of the rules seems super nimble and flavorful - I’m super excited to dive into it

J'ai eu la joie et la fierté d'être finaliste dans la catégorie #jdr indé avec mon jeu Lalaland of the Dead.
