We're very proud to announce @nagarajaf.bsky.social joining the art team of Sanctuary.

Here is the design of Arkus, a solemn maned wolf serving as war general and Guildmaster of Marchlands.

An unshaded reference sheet of Arkus, showing a front and back view of his scarred body in the clothing made out of a monstrous pelt, and his magical gauntlet and tainted axe in his right hand. Art by NagaRaja.

Looking for something spooky, I watched Marchlands (2011). It took me ages to realise that Sydney Wade, the child actor who played the daughter of Alex Kingston's character, also appeared in Doctor Who that year as the little girl version of River Song - usually played, of course, by Kingston.
Promotional photo from the TV serial Marchlands, showing (left to right) Sydney Wade, Dean Andrews, Alex Kingston and Ethan Griffin as the Maynard family in 1987.

Katsomoon on tullut minisarja

MARCHLANDS

She's really very good indeed in Marchlands: a remarkably layered performance for an 8 or 9-year old.
She turned up the following year in a Sherlock (The Reichenbach Fall), so Steven Moffat must have been impressed, too.

Retro style comics book page. Panel 1: Richard Clayton Cold, Doctor Omega, and Southland Brown sit around a table looking at maps. Caption: Doctor Omega's ship, the Cosmos, can travel by air, land, or under the sea. The Doctor, Richard Clayton Cold, and Southland Brown discuss which is the best route to the Amphibimen/Verdissia marchlands. Panel 2: The Cosmos drives over grasslands. Blue ape-like warriors mounted on coyote-horses surround it. Caption: Travel by land would take them through the lands of the Ghoulians, fierce warriors and staunch military allies of the Amphibimen. Panel 3: The Cosmos traveling by air over a desert. Flying around it are men with pterodactyl wings. They are holding long spears with their feet and have guns mounted on their helmets. Caption: While travel by air would inevitably lead to a confrontation with the airborne army of Pterrod. The Pterrodans are officially neutral in the Great War due to a non-aggression pact with Rabazar, but are nevertheless tied economically to the Amphibimen. Furthermore, they would probably not take kindly to any craft emerging from the territory of Darr, their ancient enemies. Panel 4: A hand points to a map. Caption: Brown, ever the smuggler, suggests they use the Cosmos' submarine capabilities to travel through the Sea of Monsters and up the river to land near their destination, evading detection. Next: Inspiration!

I've watched and bought quite a few movies and shows featuring Jodie ,but Marchlands was too sad and disturbing for me so I only saw eps 1-2.💔
Fair play to the viewers who enjoyed the show, though.
My niece died at 5 years old ,40 years ago,and I still struggle with kiddie deaths in rl and tv.😊

The Ultra Zionists is a documentary by Louis Theroux broadcast on BBC Two on 3 February 2011. The documentary also follows Theroux as he tours the Muslim quarter of Jerusalem with Daniel Luria of Ateret Cohanim. The IT Crowd is a television sitcom originally broadcast by Channel 4 from 3 February 2006 to 27 September 2013. 4 series totalling 25 episodes were broadcast. Set in the offices of the fictional Reynholm Industries in London, the series revolves around the staff of its IT department. In the department is technical genius Maurice Moss, work-shy Roy Trenneman, department head Jen Barber who knows nothing about IT, and Goth IT technician Richmond Avenal. The show also focuses on the bosses of Reynholm Industries: Denholm Reynholm and, later, his son Douglas. The cast includes Chris O'Dowd, Richard Ayoade, Katherine Parkinson, Noel Fielding, Chris Morris and Matt Berry. A TalkBack Thames/Delightful Industries/Retort production for Channel 4.

“Some boundaries exist to keep things contained, not to keep you safe.” IT'S KINDER IF YOU DON'T STRUGGLE on #TalesfromtheWoldwood by #Edvane Friday 3 July #DarkFantasy #FantasyLore
A weathered parchment ledger titled “Relics of the Marchlands” displays an entry for “The Glow-Earth.” At the centre sits a small, squat glass jar with a rusted metal lid and twine tied around its neck, holding a worn tag. Inside the jar is dark, granular soil that emits a faint, pale greenish glow, softly illuminating the glass. The parchment is aged and stained, with decorative borders and calligraphic text describing the earth’s origin from beneath a boundary stone, its faint luminescence, and warnings to keep it sealed and distant. A small sigil is stamped in one corner, reinforcing the tone of an old, carefully recorded relic.

"He saw the two-handed axe in his hands and knew it meant nothing in that place." A new story on #TalesfromtheWoldwood by #Edvane on Tuesday, 21 July - AN OGRE DENIED #DarkFantasy #FantasyLore
A weathered parchment catalogue page titled "Out-Marchlands Relics" documents "An Ogre's Axe." At the centre is a detailed illustration of a massive two-handed battle axe with a long, dark wooden haft wrapped in twisted wire where it has been repeatedly repaired. The broad crescent blade is heavily nicked and reinforced with bone lashed along its sides. Notes describe the weapon's recovery from the Shivering Vale after an incursion, its construction, signs of repeated impacts against stone or other hard surfaces, traces of frozen sap lodged near the axe head, and the suggested origins of Groz'Thok or the Ogrind Sweeps. A circular Relics of the Marchlands seal appears in the lower left, while measurement markings and decorative cartographic lines surround the illustration, giving the page the appearance of an archival museum ledger.
