Through The Looking Glass - @genshinaltzine
PRE-ORDERS OPEN until September 27
Story preview:
Gently, he steps closer. “Come on, then,” he says, “let’s get some food into you.”
Now, only a few paces away from her, Marchosius gets a better look. The girl is a scruffy thing, covered in dirt, her dark black hair a matted mess. Her clothes aren’t just mildly out of fashion—they seem to be centuries behind. Marchosius figures she must’ve pilfered someone’s storage. Either way, not his business.
Still. This close, the girl feels familiar. It isn’t her looks, but the feel of her, the energy that radiates off of her, even her smell… He cannot quite place it, but there’s something about her that stirs up a lot of old, bitter memories better left forgotten.
“I’m Marchosius,” he says, brushing the thought away. “Like I said, I own this restaurant. Let’s get you inside.”
It isn’t a question. He leaves no room for her to say no. Marchosius just shuffles to the side, gesturing to the back door of the kitchen.
The girl, after a moment, takes him up on the offer.

Knotty little pupdate on how I spent my #snowday 😈

it took months of patience and work, but @twistedbeast.bsky.social ‘s Marchosius finally slipped into me! 🤤

I’ve been eyeballing other toys from them, e.g., Asmodius or Pegasus, any suggestions?

“I’ll tell you what,” says Marchosius, settling onto a large stool opposite her across the table. “If you tell me where you're from, as well as your name, you can call me whatever you like.”
The girl blinks. One cheek is stuffed full of rice, making her look a little like a chipmunk hoarding food. “I’m Xiangling,” she says, and then swallows. “I don’t know where I’m from. I just woke up one day and then wandered here.”
Xiangling. What an apt name, thinks Marchosius as he watches her shovel food into her mouth as if she hasn’t eaten in centuries. “Hungry?” he muses, resting his fat cheek against the back of his paw.
“Yes,” she replies unapologetically, the word muffled slightly by the food in her mouth.
She swallows, wipes her mouth with the back of her hand, and shoots him a wide grin.

Powder-blue hair, like strands plucked from the silk of the sky.
Amaranthine eyes, a mirror to the finest sunset spring has to offer.
Two horns on either side of her head, sensitivity to the symmetrical preferences of the mortal kind.
A shy smile, quirks of a mouth quite unused to this form but all too eager to accustom herself to it.
Ganyu, she calls herself, and it is with this name she also makes the careful trek to the village and introduces herself to the kind folk milling about, who are all rather ecstatic to be in the presence of a mystical creature like her.
They ask her all sorts of questions—is she a unicorn from this stretch of the valley,
how long has she been curious about the simplicity of humanity, [...]

yesss!
I remember that years ago I thought that maybe all elemental creatures were created by the death of the moons (based on Orobashi's remains creating that resentment and on marchosius turning into all the little guobas), but we barely had any info to go with back then hahah
