I, as a UD graduate, do appreciate him going out of his way to make private Catholic Universities better. I can assure you the Jesuits and the Marianists will just be like "lol, no, we're gonna keep doing what we were doing before thanks."

He’s pandering to the hyper-conservative Catholics like Amy Coney Barrett. I’m not surprised that Marianists fall into that group.

Dayton is the ONLY Catholic school I will root for as they are hometown and Marianists. I knew of this story because Don Donoher was a friend of my father in law.

I will only root for the Marianists so ND is out. I went to The osu for a year but their fan base became like UK Basketball. Most of the most rabid fans never went to the school.

Good! I reverted to the church because of catholic workers and lay Marianists who are serious about helping homeless and hungry people, as well as learning about a beatified ancestor who gave everything away to start an orphanage in the 1800s

#OTD 8 April 1761 Guillaume-Joseph Chaminade was born. He became a Catholic priest who survived persecution during the French Revolution & later founded the Society of Mary, usually called the Marianists, in 1817. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on 3 September 2000.

In fairness, in my Province Governor of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia days, I have fond if fuzzy memories of events at the Phi Omega chapter house at UD. And compared to, say, Steubenville, the Marianists at Dayton were raucous. (Their frat advisor was a monk who played trombone. Br. Todd died too young.)

I understand the EXTREME differences in those reared Catholic and that is what I consider that the 4th Estate should help discuss but they don’t. By bringing up “sane” or those Catholics reared in the Beatitudes like Jack, Joe and Sota, helps make my case. I root for the Marianists of Dayton Ohio.
