We've been working on getting more of our mss material into a finding aid @jcblibrary.bsky.social and the records of Atlantic martime labor, among other myriad features, are stunning. Some intrepid scholars have used these collections (currently working on Arnold Biz records), but surely more now.

Touring the ship Peking at the Hamburg port museum with our workshop. The ship was used in the saltpeter trade with Chile. They had a pig pen onboard!

to be explicit: i'm predominantly interested in finding evidence for the claim that: 'trading companies provided copies of Hakluyt and Purchas to overseas merchants' Games, p.21. to not offer any evidence makes me think i must be missing something really obvious? TIA! #earlymodern #maritimehist 🗃️
