Garden goodies today. Nodding Catchfly Silene pendula, White Horehound Marrubium vulgare, Field Woundwort Stachys arvensis, Cut-leaved Germander Teucrium botrys, Weasel's Snout Misopatesorontium, Spreading Hedge-parsley Torilis arvensis.

Horehound available as black or white in the #Suffolk #Brecks at Deadman's Grave SSSI: Black Horehound, Ballota nigra, and White Horehound, Marrubium vulgare. Not as closely related as the names would suggest.

There was a lot of White Horehound in the sandy car park at Braunton Burrows in Devon today. It's a rare plant, so nice to see it again.

My latest “success”: A paper on Sambucus was cited in a publication about heavy metals in camel blood and milk in Saudi Arabia.

In a related note, I quite like the combo of Hebe, Phlomis, barberry and I would love to find more Marrubium to tie them together. 🌱

🌱 Tip for gardeners:
Bees use Marrubium vulgare, White Horehound, as medicine when they're feeling poorly! And it provides medicine for us as well! (candied for a sore throat lozenge, or used in tea).
Plant some in various areas of your garden to help bee populations as well as your family!

🌱 Tip for gardeners:
