After the Marshall Fire in 2021, there were many questions from residents about the environmental impacts: did the smoke from the fire leave a lasting impact on air quality and health? And how could people protect themselves? Yesterday our groups published 2 papers on this topic. #MarshallFire

On this day three years ago Colorado’s tragic Marshall Fire ignited at 11am. With 80mph wind and a lack of recent precipitation it spread quickly. Two people died and almost 1000 structures burned. 😢 #marshallfire #tragedy #cowx #wildfire #fire #boulder #colorado

Having lived through the #marshallfire just a few years ago, your response just shows how little you understand. I'm not going to chide you for it. We had a fully, independent funded fire dept. Two stations plus loads from surrounding towns and cities but still lost 1100 homes

Seems extreme, but I live in the #Marshallfire area - when we had to evacuate, I power down everything and just put the live NAS in the trunk knowing everything else was disposable.

after the disastrous #marshallfire in December 2021, another day of high winds, high temperatures, and extreme drought in Boulder. Xcel Energy is shutting down all power in the area tomorrow. All microscopes are going down. I'd much rather have a snow day! But better save than sorry.

It's hard to understand what one #MarshallFire family did differently to get paid besides getting an insurer that wouldn't try to put the squeeze on them.

If nothing else, it's a good reminder to take videos of each room to catalog what's in there just in case.

still ferocious winds in #boulder, temps in the 60ies and bone dry. Fire crews on high alert. Please please no fires. Conditions are exactly the same as during the #marshallfire. Downed power lines everywhere. I guess good thing that much of the power is shut off across the region.
