yeah I guess it's not really accurate for me to say I ignored the social aspect because there was no shortage of matchmade activities and I had plenty of special moments with other people there expressed entirely through emotes and pantomime

I feel like there have been some things that have been lost from that era. Like community FPS servers. I miss being able to login to servers filled with my kind of weird.

FFXIV and its consequences... Though the dungeon theme parks and the matchmade teams predate it, I feel FFXIV is the one that really popularized this. Might be wrong though!

ive found that i can really enjoy shooters but i HATE being matchmade into teams with strrangers bc it completely explodes my anxiety, which generally limits the possibilities for me, hahaha

2- Multiplayer not tested (shadNET covers, my d1 service logic partially not ready)
3- No enemies/AI/scripted events *yet*
4- Patrols work, story missions may be busted
5- Matchmade queues don't ever send you anywhere.

Was saying to a friend, I'm pretty sure one of the reasons they killed TDM (which matchmade basically instantly) is because you could grind out weapon attachments quickly, disincentivising purchasing weapons from the mtx shop.

The activity is much more rewarding if you’re playing with a 2-3 player team, but if those teammates are random, the risk for a negative run experience becomes much higher, despite the reward being higher
Also, matchmade players’ goals for a run are often different #RinPlaysMarathon
