Year 3 got hands on learning about sharing and grouping in Maths. They worked together to answer word problems with a variety of different objects, including their friends!

Year 3 have been reasoning about multiplication today in Maths. They made symbols with their arms to show whether calculations are greater than, less than or equal to each other. They even explained their answers using Maths vocabulary.

Year 6 played maths games outdoors today to consolidate their learning on division this week. We played the remainders game, running to the correct cone to show to remainder in our calculation, and we divided 4 digits numbers by 2 digit numbers, converting our remainders to decimals. #mathsatWelbeck

Year 3 have been finding fractions of sets of objects outside today! We used bar models to help us split the cubes into the correct number of equal parts.

Year 3 have been adding fractions outside today! They drew bar models with chalk to show the process of breaking down the whole into equal parts and adding the numerators.

Year 3 have been learning about angles, including the difference between acute, obtuse and right angles. We worked in groups to find lots of different angles in the playground and sort them correctly. We used right angle checkers to check we were correct. 📐

Year 3 got outside to collect data on how many different coloured cars 🚙 🚗 we could see driving past. We completed tally charts before drawing bar charts to represent our data.📊

Year 3 got active in maths today to practice using appropriate units of time. We sorted lots of activities based on whether they take seconds, minutes or hours. We then checked our answers by timing ourselves doing star jumps press-ups, balancing on 1 leg and even doing cartwheels!
