I was thinking about #MathsConf the other day, and in particular pondering what I would run a workshop on if I did another one.

I've alighted on the following title:

Teaching from a blank page (or, how to ditch your PowerPoint)

Something weird going on with maths conferences next year. Same names different locations different branding 🙃. The Peoples Front of Judea vibes

It's from orminston academy trust. Go on the link and click on circles and you'll get the booklet.
I got shown these at MathsConf last year.
The booklet also has a broken down multiple step question page that requires them to state the rule.

Started Circle Theorems today with my Year 10's!! One of my favourite topics!
Last year at MathsConf I went to a great session on it from @jemmaths.bsky.social on it. Decided to use the resources from that. Can't wait for next lesson where we are looking at subtension.

Teaching my Year 9 standard form slightly differently this time due to @jwrightmaths.bsky.social MathsConf session. Halfway through teaching positive Indies SF.
Seeing how it goes, standard form is not my favourite topic.

I made the worksheet myself but was shown it at MathsConf by @blatherwicksam.bsky.social
I used the template on Mathsbot but then just added my own numbers or algebra.

The session you did at MathsConf with these was honestly just great. Literally been thinking about it every day since of how can I incorporate these types of things into my lessons.

#MathsToday I have been skiving lessons to go on a Heads of Maths beano. Currently on the way back to school where tonight there will be the second mathsy-sounding music event in recent weeks. Missed the Moog Ensemble to go to MathsConf, looking forward to Year 9 with Sö this evening.

It's @lasalleed.bsky.social #mathsconf Friday! One of my favourite days of the year, getting to see plenty of old friends and colleagues for the social drinks before #mathsconf40.
Not even this grey, drizzly British weather can dampen my spirits!

Nice when those moments happen. I quite often meet old pupils who have gone on to become maths teachers and who come to say hello at MathsConf. Rather chuffed that so many people I taught made maths teaching their career.

With the summer holiday comes a little more time to do the things you love... failing that, here's 4 hours of me and Craig Barton talking edu-nonsense.

Ideal for a long journey or listening to episodically whilst jogging, ironing, gardening, golfing...

I have! And I still need to blog about the last mathsconf session on it too…. Turns out starting a new job and presenting in the same week isn’t conducive to blog writing 😂😂
