We're losing some NZ greats today! A world without Maurice gee adding his words to it is poorer. I am great full for the wealth his words have given to us throughout his life.

本棚で長年眠らせてしまっていた『プラム　ある家族の愛と憎しみ』をついに読みました。ニュージーランド文学を代表する長編小説。重厚で、深く、悲しい。今年６月に逝去されたモーリス・ジー氏が、おじいさまの人生をもとに、どこまでも誠実に書いた作品。1987年に邦訳を出版してくれたサイマル出版会と訳者の百々佑利子先生に感謝！
