I've just learned of Domenico "Mimmo" Lucarno, the mayor of Riace in southern Italy. He was arrested for, and eventually acquitted of, breaking Italy's immigration laws for welcoming migrants and refugees into his dying town. I found it in the excellent #HBOMAX doc #TheWelcomeTable #MayorsRule
