Gun Hill in the Staffordshire Moorlands today. The ancient packhorse routes, standing stones, and the sundial from St Matthews in Meerbrook as mentioned in episode 1 of Tales From Antiquaria...a real collection to be enjoyed across the moor. #staffordshiremoorlands #Gunhill #Meerbrook

That was the spot. Very peaceful.

Last Saturday we had a family wedding and made it a long weekend. Leek and Meerbrook on the way up.

I am going up shortly - all the family graves are in the churchyard in Meerbrook. I have spent a lot of time on the Roaches while my sons rock-climbed.

My grandparents lived there from 1916 to 1918 when he was a gamekeeper. Life must have been tough up there with a 4 yr old, a 2 year old and a baby. He then became a farmer and moved down to Meerbrook so life was easier by the time my mother was born in 1922.

My mother grew up on a farm in Meerbrook - she had amazing photos of the snow in 1946.

Plenty of treats await those that complete today's 15 mile Roaches Hill race in the peak district. Mow Cop Runners are out marshalling and the registration queue is finally shrinking in time for 10.30 start at Meerbrook!! #trailrunning

Fab to see #edurunners exists. I'm a keen, happy but very average trail runner. Anyone near Cheshire / Staffordshire who also likes running in mud & up big hills our club has a great 15m race every November from Meerbrook -
