I mean, the only reason I have a NeoGeo and a MegaCD (under repair) now is because I couldn't afford either when they came out.
I don't like the majority of the MVS' library and still have no idea what to play on the MegaCD once it's fixed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The 32X library is also questionable... 😬

I mean, the only reason I have a NeoGeo and a MegaCD (under repair) now is because I couldn't afford either when they came out.

But they’re so damn expensive and I really don’t need one

Back to the MegaCD, it's got some problems just on the sub board.
Looks like significant acid damage from C25 spreading under the silkscreen from the power reg to IC1. L1 just fell off taking the pads with it.
Ribbon cable also acidic, haven't even started on the main board yet...

Gonna give the ribbon cable socket a good clean later if all goes well with the silkscreen cleanup.

You're right! I put it on top of a camera light I have (Lumecube) and the vias are very clear and straightforward!
I just did a continuity test and the pads aren't ruined, just ugly??? OMG!
Will do a bit more cleanup and seal the unnecessarily bare copper and move on to the main board then 😇

Yeah, I fiddled for a while with it on the ST, then a full project on the Megadrive/MegaCD, so got quite fond of it. It was an interesting contrast switching back to Z80 on the Megadrive for the music driver.
