In this comic I mention the Ancient Egyptian game of Mehen, which is a very mysterious game on itself. We know that it was mostly played until the end of the Old Kingdom, and it features a snake-like game board.

3. Mehen, the snake game, is at least 3000 yrs old.
It looks like another race game, or possibly chutes and ladders. It may also represent the underworld, because it was associated with funeral events, but we think the goal was to move one's piece to the middle.

And the continuation of @giovannitheserpent.bsky.social birthday gift with him revealing his God like form known to many as Mehen. Wanted to make three spereate versions with one being just the body depicted in old egyptian tale. The second is from the sticker he uses on telegram and last is custom~

Now, the lion pieces that have been found (and the ones depicted on wall art) are larger that the average mehen board squares, so it is unlikely that they were moved around the board. It is more likely that they were stationary and were placed somewhere in the board, as a hazard or a marker.
