#Melandryidae
No skipping leg day for this dude. This is Osphya bipunctata, a rather fine species in the Melandryidae, which turned up by my moth trap last night. I confess to never having heard of it until today!

Still working through specimens from last year… Here’s a beetle family-tick from 11th July: Orchesia micans (Melandryidae). I found this one indoors at home. Not very common apparently. #UKBeetles

Does anyone have access to The Canadian Entomologist? I'm looking for Mank EW (1939b) Scotochroa and a closely allied new genus Scotochroides, (Coleoptera, Melandryidae). The Canadian Entomologist 71: 181–183.

I have a Scotochroa from an unexpected location I want to know more about.

Had this lil Odontocolon #wasp gal land on me a few times and just hang about

Despite there weird appearance parasitic wasps can't sting or bite well so are 100% fine to chill with

They also help remove a ton of other pesky bugs including invasive species on occasion

THANK YOU FUNNY #WASPS
