playing some gunvein, tying boss movements to RNG (I think that's how it functions?) work pretty well as a way to minimize ppl memoing through patterns, adding to the game's texture of uncertainty and relying on bombs/hyper in order to smooth out an encounter

i want to agree, but in practice, the compiler still feels fairly easy to break, e.g. fresh objects returned from functions, plain callbacks in map calls, etc. and you end up having to non-trivially restructure things through non-trivially obtained debugger insights for proper memoing

I'm reading through Hatch's Doing Qualitative Research in Education Settings (which I really like) memoing about my decisions for my dissertation proposal while also thinking "how am I going to be able to do what is recommended here?"

We went to grad school together! I’m a huge fan of her work.
And you’re right—Jason and Justin’s interviews were also wild. Mostly because they were very likable. The gravity of some of the things I’d heard only came through as I was memoing and transcribing.

That sounds pretty much like analytic memoing without the fancy name but the Saldana (and there are a few others) gives some theoretical referencing to underpin the technique so could be useful. #PhDSky

Me, memoing, every time I have to check my own transcripts against my audio files: "I hate this."
Why is it always so unbearably embarrassing to send my audio files & interview transcripts to the fact checker. Oh my god what did I say. What if I said something insane. Why does my job require I give you a window to see me with a clarity I am afraid to turn on myself.
