Charlotte’s memory quilt (top only) made with many (but not all!) strike off samples from her former job as a textile print designer at Columbia Sportswear. This was a feat to sew because the fabrics were all types of weight and stretch from knits to rainwear and fleece!

Last week my sister came to visit together with a friend who had recently lost her husband and three bags of shirts. We spent the whole week thinking up and then sewing together a quilt top. It was a lovely process. To be finished when they come to visit the next time.

It's been three years now. This is one of the simplest yet most treasured quilts—made for Mom using Dad's shirts. She naps with it daily and has expressed a wish to be buried with it. He didn't have much money, yet he was rich, generous and kind beyond measure.
