Township attorney Joe Haas told the Planning Commission that adopting a CREO (comparable renewable energy ordinance) would require identical compliance with Public Act 233 and would not permit the township to refuse state-compliant renewable projects; commissioners were advised to weigh administrative costs before pursuing a CREO.

The commission voted to consider a code text amendment to Section 16.05 that would change setbacks, require landscaping, limit impervious surface and building footprint, add façade and fenestration standards, and tighten buffers near residences; staff and commissioners debated parking, business mix and design impacts.
