Normally I love hydrocolloid bandages, but this guy was giving off too much fluid, and that was making it unhappy. Mepitel + a thin layer of gauze stuck down with silicone tape seems like a good compromise so far.

For some reason, we can’t order Mepitel bigger than the size of a postcard. I have a patient using it now and she had to get it from someone when she knows at Mayo. 🤷♀️🤔 #radonc

I'm trying another silicone product called Mepitel on the wound itself, and I think it might also be great. It's $$, but it protects the wound bed without sticking to it, lets it get some air without going totally crusty, and you can clean the wound without removing it.

Ik ga ze bellen, heb nog dozen vol van allerlei best wel dure dingen, nooit uitgepakt. Incl het toch wel dure Mepitel siliconen verband.

If your treatment plan includes radiation, then find out if you can use the Mepitel film of you can. It made a massive difference for me and stopped the rash forming over the main site. And if you DO get a rash (I did on my neck 🙄) I highly recommend ‘Weleda Skin Food LIGHT’ - it’s magical!
