Me, writing up post-class notes about mergesort.

Google Docs: have you considered becoming a finbro instead? I hear it's very vogue in 2025.

Spent a little bit of today wrestling with SwiftData. Ended up jumping over to @mergesort.me’s Boutique library and it worked right away. github.com/mergesort/Bo...

Them: “noooo you can’t just claim that ALL algorithms are afflicted by the biases and opinions of their inventors”
Me, pointing at pathological behaviors of quicksort and linear memory overhead of mergesort: “biases and opinions”

5/5 Broadcast isn't just some skill that tells Claude or Codex how to debug, or vibe coded slop. Broadcast is logging infrastructure wrapped in a Swift library that I'll be porting to every language I work in. What excites me most is how much Broadcast has helped speed up my time to *good* code.

I forgot to mention this when I added it, but for people using Cursor or Claude Code: Boutique has a handy llms.txt file that makes it super easy to integrate into your project. 🙂

Always nice to confirm that mergesort works in real life for sorting exam scripts

Just woke L up 15 minutes early for a rousing discussion of big-O notation and mergesort algorithms, if you have ever wondered what it would be like to be married to me.

No, that is not any kind of entendre, I just wanted to talk about big-O notation.

why is the quicksort function called `qsort` in c's stdlib? mergesort is called mergesort, it's the same length... whyyyyy

My fork of Bevy Hanabi, Hanabi-Batched, has been updated to support 0.18 and has many more improvements, such as lookup textures, PBR particles, and GPU mergesort for ribbons: github.com/pcwalton/bev...

If you're looking for a way to use Hanabi on 0.18, feel free to grab it!
