We walked through the Vondelpark to dinner, which was delightful even if a little soggy

Instantly added 5 birds to my MerlinID life list 😄

A few birds from our camping weekend at the beach in Grado Italy. There is a nature reserve around Grado, MerlinID says we could see up to 120 different birds but we registered the chirping of about 11 and spotted maybe 8 - high up in the canopy or out fishing. A magpie came close. #birds 🪶

There's a goldfinch that sits high in the ash tree at the end of my garden just singing its heart out, but quite impossible to spot. Elaborate and joyful.

Trying to stay sane in our current times. One way i do is to listen to the birds. #merlin helps me identify them. The spring crop has arrived! #birds #bird #merlinid

That MerlinID bird identification app is pretty sweet.
I didn’t know there were song sparrows, brown headed cowbirds, and red wing blackbirds here.

Got a reasonably good still shot of what MerlinID tells me is a ruby-topaz hummingbird? Not sold on the ID but that's the only thing coming up so I'll go with it 😃

There were 3 of them in the same area, but only one I could get on camera

I wish there was a bug sound identifier like #MerlinID for #birds.

Big fan of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s “MerlinID” mobile app. I just went on a walk using it to follow bird sounds and it was fascinating to hear how many types of birds are in my neighborhood

MerlinID from Cornell is one of the best apps ever made. Uses your mic to listen to bird songs and tells you what birds are hanging out around you.
