#Promerycochoerus synonymized now with #Merycochoerus, were oreodonts, affectionately referred to as "sheep🐏-camel🐪-pigs🐖".

Though they've been studied fairly well, there's still not a great #paleoart depiction.

This Merycochoerus (an oreodont) was found by a Field Museum crew in 1906, on the Nebraska/Wyoming border. Here it is on display in 1942 and today. #FossilFriday

ancient Rhinos Menoceras and it's larger cousins Floridaceras may have also fed on fruits and the plants that produce them, as did Floridatragulus, an ancient Camelid, even Merycochoerus, a member of the diverse group called Merycoidodont's, may have fed on the fruits and nuts as well as the cuds-
