Het was niet echt helder maar de seeing was heel goed, een mooie rustige atmosfeer afgelopen zaterdagavond.
Dus even NGC281, IC1848 en Messier45.

#Messier45 #ThePleiades taken on 15th September 2026. #WilliamOptics 70mm refractor, #SonyA7iii. 90 x 30 seconds, shot through thin cloud so everything was mushy. I should also have used a field flattener with this setup!

De #Plejaden zijn genoemd naar zeven zussen uit de Griekse mythologie die door Zeus aan de hemel waren geplaatst. Zij waren de dochters van de reus Atlas en de Oceanide Pleione.

Such a technical shot for me, I was close to giving up (and half frozen!) 🙂 a throwback to Feb 2022 before my new role and the need to prioritise sleep took over. I remember how proud I was after many attempts at this target. Canon 7D/ RedCat51 / CEM26. #astrophotography #messier45 #pleiades
The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters or Messier 45 (M45), is a famous open star cluster located in the constellation Taurus. While it is primarily known as a star cluster, it is surrounded by a reflection nebula. This reflection nebula is composed of interstellar dust that reflects the light from the hot, young stars in the cluster. The blue color of the nebula is due to the scattering of shorter-wavelength blue light, much like the Earth’s sky appears blue because of Rayleigh scattering. Interestingly, the nebula was not formed from the same molecular cloud as the stars of the Pleiades. Instead, the cluster is currently passing through a region of interstellar dust, which makes the reflection nebula visible.
