"metafurry" is a broad spectrum of expression of ocs who just have a "sona" to those that use increasingly elaborate means to express it, eg costuming, splicing, transformation, etc.

I'm positive someone came up with a term the same/similar to metafurry but eh. It feels important to solidify. I could dive deeper I think; like the difference between a furry oc having been born like that and a "furry" oc that's something non-furry that uses the original oc as a fursona

I hope the general meaning of "metafurry" and the use of "furry" here is coming across right; "furry" in this case refers to the practice of having a fursona rather than a literal descriptor of what the sona is. Furry-as-practice, so to speak vs furry as in "furred mammalian anthro, specifically"
