When metagaming was invented as a term this is basically what it was actually talking about. Metagaming is exploitative use, not successful learning, of both the rules and hidden information. Rules lawyer is a pejorative for a reason. A game should in fact teach you about how people cheat.

if you're metagaming at your gaming table, that's not isekai. if you somehow got sucked into the game you were playing and living it in real life and knew that skeletons were weak to bludgeoning damage, you would be metagaming in an isekai
