Ridership on DC's Metrorail has accelerated into spring as the federal government called employees back to the office. WMATA system overall hit >1,000,000 riders one day in late March; expect more million-rider days soon.

27 years ago a belligerent wino on the miami metrorail yelled "can't give the kids kool-aid, they'll just put iodine in it" and it's still rattling around my brainpan to this day

Metro is launching Automatic Train Operation on the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines this Sunday, enhancing safety, reliability, and efficiency!
This marks the first time the entire Metrorail system will be in automatic mode since 2009.

I have lived in the DMV for >35 years and have taken both Metrobus and Metrorail regularly during that time. This fear-mongering is at best pathetic and at worst an exemplar of rampant MAGA racism.
